On March 18th Friends of the Earth activists gathered in front of the BHP-Billiton office in Melbourne to rise attention to BHP-Billiton“s water usage. BHP-Billiton draws 35 Million liter of water every day from the Great Artisan Basin to serve the Olympic Dam mine.

Am 18. Maerz versammelten sich Aktivisten von Friends of the Earth vor der BHP-Billiton Niederlassung in Melbourne. Anlaesslich der „World Water Week“ machten sie auf den Wasserverbrauch von BHP-Billiton aufmerksam. BHP-Billiton pumpt taeglich 35 Millionen Liter Wasser aus dem „Great Artisan Basin“ einem riesigen unterirdischen Wassersystem um die Uranmine Olympic Dam zu versorgen.
